MEET SEAMUS!! SEAMUS IS ON THE HUNT FOR HIS FOREVER HOME!
Seamus came to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control. He had been found in a box under the viaduct and was experencing tremors and seizures. In addition to that, Xrays showed an object in his tummy which when surgically removed was an earring!! Despite his rought start, Seamus competely recovered. We are guessing he had a concussion or reaction to the earring.
Seamus is an active dog. We debated on calling him Monkey since he can climb up a chain link fence. He needs a home that can manage him and won't give him an opportunity to take a tour of his neighborhood. He enjoys other dogs and might do best with a similar size and energy friend to keep him busy. Because of his wanderlust he would not do well in a home with young kids or a condo or apartment setting. He should have a yard and plenty of time to play and run. He just got neutered and still wants to chase the girls. We think maybe he was a cassonova before and got out of his yard looking for date and just got lost. It takes a few months for all those hormoes to settle down. So he might have a crush on the females dogs in the house for a while.
Seamus is always a happy boy. He does come when called (most of the time!) He does have house manners but can stil want to mark from time to time. He is in a belly band for now and we think once he has his own home and gradual transitioning he will do fine in time without it. Seamus was very underweight and pretty close to starved when we got him. We also thought to call him Hoover for a while! LOL! But he now knows there is plenty of food for him but still should be watched so he doesn't swallow the wrong things.
