Poppy is a charming and gentle dog .she is estimated to be about 3 years old s d about 14lbs.  She was a local stray found on the streets of Chicago. She’s used to a leash and enjoys a walk or  playing in a secure yard.  Poppy will escape for an adventurer if she has  a chance, she needs a savvy owner and secure yard.  Poppy has potty skills but like all dogs, she will  need a restart and routine to follow in a new environment . Poppy likes being near her people.  She’s happy to play with other dogs but can be dominant over others that are more submissive. As a result, we want her to be the only dog in the household, no other dogs, cats or other animals.

Like all dogs, she will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs —not only to give Poppy important learning skills, but because you and your dog  will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together.

Poppy is fully vetted. She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of her adopter. Her adoption donation is $600..00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Zuzu wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse!

IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you.

We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Cindy Lou, please fill out an application for her adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption.

The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs.  We try to get back to all qualified applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster group.  We are not a brick and mortar.
